History Timeline

Chris Fenner began working on Seven Wives of Henry the 8th in May 1999 and enlisted the help of Adrian Woolner the following month to write lyrics for the show. By August the first draft of act one is complete and Jamie Keene joins the show in September starting with lyrics for “I Want A Son” and then moving on to becoming a principle member of the creative team.

By March 2000 Chris Fenner and Jamie Keene had started work on “How I Feel” and final preparations began for the studio recording. The studio recording takes place in May featuring Neil Toon, Katie Missing and Stuart Woolner with a revised CD produced in November entitled “The Original Highlights”. On 13th December “How I Feel” is performed at Shoeburyness High School with vocals by Chris Fenner and Ruth Wareham.

Due to outside commitments very little of the show was worked on for a few years but by the end of 2004 Seven Wives got it’s own website address and recording and rehearsals begin for the new studio recording.

Jennifer Chislett joins the creative team in 2005 and begins working on the book with Chris Fenner as well as adding new musical material. By August 2008 the Studio Recording is around half way complete with vocal talents from Rob Young, Richard Hogg, Drew Black, Anna Bertmark, Naomi Charles, Cheri Smith, Chris Fenner and Rob Champion already recorded with more to come.

In 2009 the final mixes are prepared and the musical gets a new logo design (as well as updated look website) from graphic designer Tim Nelis.
